Acid gas treatment and sequestration is our core business.
Wellsite treatment plants offer operator and processor benefits.
Operators derive numerous benefits from onsite amine treatment and sequestration facilities, including:
cost savings achieved through reduced transportation costs, processing contracts, engineering and labor
ability to meet ESG mandates by the investment community and regulatory bodies
greater control over production with the ability to access timely treatment of acid gas
access to highly specialized, experienced talent
avoid committing capital to non-core assets
freedom from long-term facility operations and maintenance burdens
demonstrated social responsibility in response to community and employee expectations
better, more profitable use of pipeline and processor infrastructure
A Consultative Approach
Caracara’s consultative approach provides clients with custom acid gas sequestration solutions built where the customer needs it and to their unique specifications. E&P companies that rely on Caracara Services to develop, fund, construct, and operate target-based treatment facilities will be able to concentrate their efforts on increasing reserves and production, adding significant value to their organization.
In the Middle of the Value Chain Between Operators and Processors
Traditionally, sour gas treatment facilities exist either at the wellhead where a producer treats the raw natural gas before putting it into the pipeline for later processing, or third-party processors treat raw gas funneled through pipelines before they extract natural gas liquids (NGLs).
The high quantity of acid gas makes it uneconomical and often impractical for Exploration & Production (E&P) companies to invest significant capital or attempt to assemble highly specialized expertise in-house for a raw gas treatment activity that is not their core business.
Further, it is difficult to transport sour gas to gas processors, who are often reluctant to offer their available capacity for high amounts of acid gas which then limits their available capacity for sweet gas they could otherwise process and sell.
Seated in the middle of the value chain between operators and processors, Caracara Services treatment plants begin to solve this high acid gas content intermediary issue, thereby reducing operator costs for sour gas wells E&P companies have spent considerable time and effort developing.
Custom Projects Built to Your Specifications
Unlike treatment plants at large gathering and processing facilities, Caracara’s custom treatment projects are target-based solutions located in or adjacent to clients’ leaseholds, offering them greater efficiencies and economies of scale in operations.
